Allocation of social housing to recent migrants
Local Government Association, no date
This report by the Chartered Institute of Housing was commissioned by the Local Government Association to explore the extent to which migrants are allocated social housing lettings; the evidence of social housing demand amongst recent migrants; and the extent to which migrants are making use of other tenures. The result of a desk study, it finds limited use of social housing by accession state migrants. Evidence points to small numbers entering the social housing system, concentrated in particular places. It indicates that this small number may grow, particularly if migrants stay for longer.
