Working in partnership to safeguard young people: Preventing forced marriage
Public Policy Exchange, 2010
This Public Policy Exchange symposium aimed to develop delegates' understanding of the legal framework for tackling forced marriage along with addressing how forced marriage may be prevented through better awareness and identification. The day was attended by a range of delegates from the voluntary and public sector. The following two presentations were especially informative on this issue.
DS Sharon Stratton works in the Forced Marriage Unit in the Violent Crime Directorate of the Metropolitan Police and Dr Peter Keogh is Co-Director of the Families and Children Group at the National Centre for Social Research.
